PK80-Phil Knight Invitational presented by State Farm was a two-tournament men’s college basketball event held in Portland, Oregon from Nov. 23-26, 2017. PK80 was created to honor Nike Co-Founder Phil Knight for his 80th Birthday and in recognition of his significant contributions to collegiate basketball. Sixteen college teams, with a combined 23 National Championships, participated in what was the best collection of college basketball teams in one event, at a single site, in the history of the sport.
One of the largest regular season tournaments in college basketball history, ESPN and the Rose Quarter hosted 24 games, 12 each at Moda Center and the Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The event consisted of two brackets, Victory and Motion, of eight teams, with each bracket limited to one team per conference. Michigan State defeated North Carolina in the Victory Bracket Championship while Duke bested Florida to win the Motion Bracket Championship.
